The 2013 general meeting of the China Lifting Sling Standardization Working Group was held in Guangzhou on May 9-10. The working group is formed under the China Metallurgical Standardization Committee. And the meeting was organized by Jian Feng Sling Co., Ltd, the company which holds the secretary office for the working group.

Ms. Zheng Yanming, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision (Econ. Dev. Zone), Professor Wang Lingjun, Secretary-general of the CMSI Bar Rod and Steel Wire Technical Committee under the China Metallurgical Information and Standardization Institute (CMISI), and Mr. Zhang Pingping, Director of the National Quality and Technical Supervision Center for Metal Products, were among the honored guests of the meeting.

In this meeting, 21 members from different cities in China gathered, and discussed four standards drafted by Jian Feng Sling Co., Ltd, which includes “Sling with Flemish Eye Ferrule-secured Termination”, “Sling with Short Button Termination”, “Sling with Turn-back Eye Steel Ferrule-secured Termination”, and “Forging Steel Ferrule Swaged Socket Wire Rope Sling”. The members held discussion, finalized and recommended the four standards, making them ready for submission for approval by the national authority.

The group also announced the joining of three new members, and presented certificates for them. In the final session of the meeting, Mr. Evan Cui, group leader of the China Sling Standardization Working Group, gave a summary for the work done by the group and laid out the work plan for 2013. Thanks to the support from different parties, the annual meeting came to a fruitful conclusion.
